Trying to locate war diary

Hi

 

Was hoping somebody would be able to help me find the War diary for WO95/781/5

6 Corp Routine orders 

Struggling to find on ancestry. Could somebody advice how you can search using the Was diary ref

You won't find it on Ancestry - they only have diaries for divisions and their constituent units.

Allan,

What do you need from this file as it is quite a large file. It is the A & Q file October 1918 to October 1919 and contains Corps Routine Orders.

Hi thanks so much for the help and the image. Could I ask how you found it ? as I always struggle with the Corp order

Hi Allan,

Well you gave the reference number which is October's A & Q, 10th October is not too far into the file. I try to index all Corps files on my hard drives in depth as they contain so much information and a great resource for maps and giving the bigger picture when looking at actions rather than the battalion or brigade/division overview, useful when you want to know the whole story and tend not to be as biased as say battalions diaries tend to be and can be, i.e. we retired as the battalion on the left had retired.
