This carries over from the topic regarding the Messines Ridge British Cemetery:

This was originally Posted Sunday at 12:42

these airmen are all on GRRF 1821865 - this will take some work (if not already done) as no candidates appear in air force or navy?

  • COG-BR 2015141 two (but separate by location) English Airmen noted by "Civilian Information"
    • 5.B.2 (1918) and 5.B.5 (16 March 1918)
  • COG-BR 2015142 missed this one in 2016 for two (2) airmen KIA 3 June 1917 5.B.6 and 5.B.7
    • one in morning one at night (sounds familiar - maybe I checked?)

On the first group, I was "brain dead" as I looked for them in Belgium when the Arras Flying Services Memorial is in France!

  • 7 lost in the period from the 12th to 18th: CWGC Link

Luc brought up the case of the airmen of 3 June 1917 on the CEFSG back in June 2016: https://cefresearch.ca/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=13949

2Lt ED Haller and 2Lt FH Foster have no known gave, they are on the Arras Flying Services Memorial:

All sources on German claims agree that they were shot down by Max Ritter von Müller at 19h10 above Quesnoy.
There are 2 graves at Messines Ridge exhumed from 36.D (west of Quesnoy) that were marked U.B. Airman KIA 3-6-17, but the "information from civilians" say that one was in the morning and the other in the evening.
They were also at different map locations, could it be them? The observer jumped or fell out of the plane?

Luc noted in that topic that he had submitted a report on Flight Sub-Lieutenant McNeil, Percy Gordon.
