Colin W Taylor Posted 4 December , 2019 Share Posted 4 December , 2019 Hi Chas, From experience it is easy to confuse 9th Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment ) with 1/9th or 2/9th London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles). Whilst James may be correct you may need to be specific on your Grandfather's identity to confirm. The 9th Bn RF war diary is here (via Ancestry if you subscribe): https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interactive/60779/43112_1857_0-00000?backurl=&ssrc=&backlabel=Return#?imageId=43112_1857_0-00294 Regards Colin

Don Regiano Posted 5 December , 2019 Share Posted 5 December , 2019 9RF were at what didn't remain of our house in August 1918. SWMBO is researching those who died in relieving the village. Most were just teenagers. Sorry, doesn't help this topic.
