I know in 1915 there was a transport signals machine gun and adjutant. What other roles were there? Ron Clifton Posted 7 December , 2019 Share Posted 7 December , 2019 Frederick Myatt's The British Infantry 1660-1945 gives this breakdown for 1917: Fighting portion Commanding officer Second in command Adjutant Lewis gun officer Signalling officer Bombing officer [for hand grenades] Administrative portion Assistant adjutant Quartermaster Transport officer Other sources have specialist roles such as intelligence officer and scouting and sniping officer.
