How many 17-year old officers were killed (were there any younger?)? I know of four. Can anyone suggest more, please?

They are :-

2Lt. James D Hodding RF 10.7.1916

Lt. E L F Platts RMLI 1st. RM Bn. RND

2Lt. L E Studley East Yorks

2Lt. M V Beningfield 1st. Worcs

Another I know of is:

Name: LISTER, PHILIP T.

Initials: P T

Nationality: United Kingdom

Rank: Second Lieutenant

Regiment: King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry

Unit Text: 10th Bn.

Age: 17

Date of Death: 09/04/1917

Additional information: Son of Katherine Davidson (formerly Lister), of "Ivy Gate," Remenham, Henley-on-Thames, and the late P. P. Lister.

Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead

Grave/Memorial Reference: VI. P. 10.

Cemetery: BUCQUOY ROAD CEMETERY, FICHEUX

I mentioned this one to Richard Van Emden, so it might appear in his forthcoming book on Boy Soldiers?
