Cpl Walter Town 117098

In memory of my great great Grandfather Walter Town of Castleford. He was a member of D company the 5th Labour Btn Royal Engineers and was sadly killed on the 17/11/1915. Walter was on a working party that was hit by shell fire on the Dickebusch Road. 

 

Just a quick post, although killed over 100 years ago I believe his sacrifice should not be forgotten. 

 

Lest we forget

Thank you Pat,

I place a small cross on Sheffield cenotaph after remberance Sunday parade every year for Walter.
