Dear All, help needed to identify the following 1st Devonshires 1914 officer casualties.  The forenames are proving a little difficult especially for Special Reserve Officers where Hart's 1914 Army list does not give full details or were attached from other units. Other details such as disembarkation date or DoB etc also most helpful.  The main bn disembarked from SS Reindeer (coming from Jersey) at Havre on 21st August 1914.

  1. captain Davies ? P B or F J ? - was he perhaps an Extra Reserve? - slightly wounded on Aisne - 25th Sept 1914
  2. major C Granville - Special Reserve
  3. lt W J Alexander - Regular - comm'd 1911
  4. ? H M Humphrey - attached from Hampshire 3rd
  5. 2nd lt G C Wright - new commission(temp) - Sept 1914 - born 1892 - invalided/sick back to UK at end of Oct 1914

Many thanks in advance,  Nick
