PaulC78 Posted 15 November , 2019 Share Posted 15 November , 2019 A headstone was recently placed at St John the Evangelist RC Church in Burscough, Lancashire, to mark the grave of Stoker Henry Rockliffe who served on HMS Lion during the Battle of Jutland. Henry was invalided with osetoarthritis and died on 3 December 1918 from chronic Bright's disease (nephritis). Unfortunately he is not eligible for a war grave on account of his cause of death not being related to service, but it's good to see him recognised by the local community. The headstone also commemorates his brother Charles who was a casualty of WW2.
