Liz in Eastbourne Posted 12 November , 2019 Share Posted 12 November , 2019 (edited) There is an exhibition on until 8 December at Oxford House, Bethnal Green, about Dame Maud McCarthy, the Australian nurse who was matron-in-chief of the British Expeditionary Force in France, and whose diaries Sue Light transcribed. I haven't been but it has been recommended to me by my sister, who's a nurse. frev Posted 13 November , 2019 Share Posted 13 November , 2019 Thank you for sharing Liz Maud was a truly amazing lady and it's great to know her story is being brought to the notice of so many, and especially the newer generations. I hope you manage a visit - I'd love to see it, but I'm afraid distance is a bit of a problem! I'll always be grateful to our dear departed Sue for transcribing Maud's diaries, which have been used so often by myself, and I'm sure, many others. Cheers, Frev
