Admin kenf48 Posted 11 November , 2019 Admin Share Posted 11 November , 2019 Assuming he is Gilbert Stuart 1/6 Battalion probably in Bedford Check out http://bedfordhighlanders.blogspot.com/ number of similar pictures on the site shows they were billeted in Dudley Street, google street view of that road has houses with similar bay windows though the porch doesn’t extend over front doors, I’d have a look round. Ken Great picture btw a real treasure!

rgalley Posted 15 November , 2019 Share Posted 15 November , 2019 Hi Nightingale, This photo was taken in Pembroke Street, Bedford (well within the A&SH's billeting district when the Highland Division was stationed in the town from Aug '14 - May '15)) - the distinctive house frontages are the give away, as these are particular to this street. If you could PM a higher res scan of the image we may be able to determine where, exactly, the men were posing. Attached is a screen shot from Google maps. Best wishes, Richard
