Can anyone tell me where photo was taken of Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders?

This a photo I have of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders WW1, my Great Grandfather Gilbert Stuart is pictured third on the right kneeling front row. But what I would like to know is where was this taken?  Can anyone help please.

Assuming he is Gilbert Stuart 1/6 Battalion probably in Bedford

number of similar pictures on the site shows they were billeted in Dudley Street, google street view of that road has houses with similar bay windows though the porch doesn’t extend over front doors, I’d have a look round.

Hi Nightingale,

 

This photo was taken in Pembroke Street, Bedford (well within the A&SH's billeting district when the Highland Division was stationed in the town from Aug '14 - May '15)) - the distinctive house frontages are the give away, as these are particular to this street.

 

If you could PM a higher res scan of the image we may be able to determine where, exactly, the men were posing.
