Hello all

Can anyone help in identifying what this leather holster was designed to carry please ?

I've been advised it was for a shoulder stock for a pistol. It was carried by a Grenadier Guards Officer but I have no idea for which pistol.

The holster measures 10 1/2 inches in length , 4 1/4 inches at its widest point and 1 3/4 inches at the base.

Any ideas will be gratefully received.

Thanks

James.

Hi

I don’t believe that the shoulder stock of the a Webley revolver would fit into it as it’s a different shape and was not designed to be put on and taken off in the field quickly like you could with a Mauser or Luger.

Hi Dave, I agree about it not being for a Webley. And I'm not even sure if it is for a pistol stock at all. A Browning Model 1903 stock is a possibility but I was hoping someone here might know.

Thanks

James

Given the dimensions it seems a little long and narrow.

I don't know what it is for but I wondered if it might be for something like a humane horse killer or some such?

I have no idea about that to be honest. There can't be too many things it can be for really.
