OLD ROBIN HOOD Posted 7 November , 2019 Share Posted 7 November , 2019 Greetings from The Royal Hunting Forest of Sherwood, where it is very cold and very damp, sometimes being and outlaw isn't much fun. I have attached images of an item that I have owned for many years and just can't identify, I haven't a clue what it is. It is very well made of brown leather, 8 inches long, 2 inches wide and 1 inch deep. Inside it is divided into 2 equal compartments. The back is marked '1- 16' which I suppose could be 1916. inside the flap it is marked 1.N & D below which 16. Obviously the 1. N & D will be the 1st Battalion of the Notts and Derby Regiment ( Sherwood Foresters) which is probably why I bought it. So, if any of you good folk out there have any idea what it is I would be very glad to know. Old Robin Hood
