I have researched a man with the original number on his MIC as T2/12517 who arrived in France 26 March 1915.  Is there anything that can be gleaned from that number?

At some point he moved to Royal Irish Rifles 8/42876 and was killed on 24 March 1918.

Annoyingly  his records go from 1906 when he joined up in the Worc's Regiment, and then deserted. A mention in August 1914 gives him having a pardon and then nothing!

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Steve
