GraemeClarke Posted 26 October , 2019 Share Posted 26 October , 2019 (edited) Hi Mike, Getting mixed results at the moment. No WW2 results working and getting 6,000 results on a town check on WW1. That said, most excellent news if it is back, it has been sorely missed, Regards, Graeme Edited 26 October , 2019 by GraemeClarke

PRC Posted 27 October , 2019 Share Posted 27 October , 2019 24 minutes ago, bif said: For all of we newer folk, please. Geoff took a scrape of the whole CWGC database back in 2011 when the search engine on the CWGC website was fairly rubbish. He then added a much more useful way to search that the CWGC have subsequently tried to emulate but still haven't quite suceeded in matching. Having run your query to get the one /100 / 1000 results you are after, (in alphabetical order, not some random mess the AI think matches your interest a la CWGC), you can then export it as a spreadsheet, click through to the original details he captured, or run the query against the current CWGC database There is a query engine for the Great War and a separate one for WW2, but each has an option to go to the other. They also have options to go to his copy of the Armed Forces Memorial. Downside is that any new additions on CWGC \ Armed Forces Memorial, won't show up, and changes to those databases won't be reflected in the search return as the search will be run on how the record looked in 2011, not now. Hope that helps, Peter

micks Posted 27 October , 2019 Share Posted 27 October , 2019 There are still some issues when I search by date, rank and regiment. However I also would like to thank Geoff for such a brilliant piece of kit.
