Landed at St Nazaire on 10 September, 1914, en route to the Front, he disappeared from this world barely 6 weeks later, 105 years ago today, whilst in a relatively 'quiet' sector. Steven Broomfield Posted 25 October , 2019 Share Posted 25 October , 2019 Makes you wonder how brother Jack must have felt. Puts me in mind of the passage in There's a Devil in the Drum in which the author's brother disappears, never to be seen again. Poor young Ginger: all that hope extinguished.
