williywonker Posted 18 October , 2019 Share Posted 18 October , 2019 Can anyone identify the cloth badge worn by this lady who served with the Anglo-Russian Hospital from October 1915 until April 1917, being awarded the Medal of the Order of St George 4th class for her work with the Field Hospital at Lutz. She then served at one of the Paget Missions in Latvia and later in Lithuania. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Mal
Jim Strawbridge Posted 19 October , 2019 Share Posted 19 October , 2019 My thoughts are that it is not a WWI badge but a brooch adornment. Happy to be shot down.
williywonker Posted 19 October , 2019 Author Share Posted 19 October , 2019 Thanks Jim, I know so little about the Paget Missions in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, and thought the badge might have some connection. Mal
alf mcm Posted 19 October , 2019 Share Posted 19 October , 2019 (edited) Mal. This book is about the Anglo Russian Hospital. The badge on the front of the book is not the same shape as what is on the woman's hat. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Forgotten-Hospital-Michael-Harmer/dp/086254100X/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=the+forgotten+hospital&qid=1571477607&s=books&sr=1-1 {edit] The book is available much cheaper on Ebay. williywonker Posted 19 October , 2019 Author Share Posted 19 October , 2019 Hi Alf, Many thanks. Yes I was aware of the book and the badge on the front cover was worn on the uniform. My query related more to the Paget Missions which so very little is known. Mal
