keithmroberts Posted 13 October , 2019 Share Posted 13 October , 2019 The first image I have seen of this memorial . I think we found only some broken brickwork there last year, (if I have the right location). This image is reproduced from the June 1932 edition of the Mosquito, as scanned by the Salonika Campaign Society, see another thread regarding the Mosquito.
Gardenerbill Posted 15 October , 2019 Share Posted 15 October , 2019 Interesting photograph Keith, I wasn't aware that Brigade memorials existed. Looks like a Lewis gun on the top.
keithmroberts Posted 15 October , 2019 Author Share Posted 15 October , 2019 That's got to be correct. There was an article in that edition by or about an officer revisiting and it mentions that the machine gun was still in place. Not all the content is as interesting to me, but I'm only up to 1932 at present.
