Remembered Today:

Personal Effects Records

I have been looking at personal effects records for the first time, I notice that there are credits and charges, just wondering if anybody could shed any light on what they might be for. The red figure is 152 - -.

Any help much appreciated.

Ideally you need to post the details of  the record you're looking at.

The figure in red is usually the war gratuity, paid for length of war time service.

If you see Cox & Co the amount refers to their pay after adjustments, I think. This would be in officers' Effects records, not, I presume, in those of Other Ranks, as Cox & Co were the bankers for most officers.

Thanks for the reply , I was looking at EHN Stroud and C White, 2 early RAF who had transferred from the army. Both marked by the same headstone at Bellewarde I think. One had won the military cross.
