This is may have to be a group effort on ICRC records. Each taking a few regiments and going through the records - i.e to PA card level. Even then we might not be lucky

There's also an Edwin Lawrie Smith at no.22 in the 1930s, and an Elizabeth Smith in the 1920s. Maybe Catherine was a sister or sister-in-law? Maybe Elizabeth was the mother?  Also, maybe none of the above.
