remarriage gratuity (pension documents)

It appears from the above W.F.A pension doc

That a remarriage gratuity was paid when the widow of a soldier remarried

 

I assume this would have been in lieu of her widows pension entitlement which would have been forfeited 

although a pension in respect of the children would still be paid
