Neill Gilhooley Posted 27 September , 2019 Share Posted 27 September , 2019 The diary of James Lawson Cairns, 9th Royal Scots, transcribed by his niece Margaret Donaldson, covers the period 23 February 1915, the day the battalion left Edinburgh for France, to 2 December 1915, in the Somme valley.
