Moonraker Posted 26 September , 2019 Share Posted 26 September , 2019 Looking for another Wilfred Howell, I came across this book about another one in the Royal Sussex Regiment - he seems to have moved from one battalion to another. (Self-published flip-book, nicely laid out and readable.) Moonraker
Guest Posted 26 September , 2019 Share Posted 26 September , 2019 I am gobsmacked by the all-knowing omnipotence of your mind-reading skills. I was just knuckling down to do some work on 2 men (related) -locals- who were both killed by the same shell while serving with...... 12 R.Sussex. And you pop up with this. Moonraker Posted 26 September , 2019 Author Share Posted 26 September , 2019 Happy to help. Another minor coincidence is that this Wilfred came from Hastings and the other one (Major Wilfred Howell DSO) married a woman from Torre, Torquay. A friend of 58 years comes from Torquay (where I met her in 1961) and now lives in Hastings. Something to interest bore her next time we chat.
