Terry_Reeves Posted 20 September , 2019 Share Posted 20 September , 2019 (edited) Steven They were formed at Longmoor and comprised of men from the Great Wester railway Company. The company embarked for the BEF on 26.2.1917 and were employed variously in Flanders and France. They have a war diary at TNA which can be downloaded for a small fee: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_q=wo95%2F4054%2F6 This might be of interest also : https://transcribathon.com/en/documents/id-4288/ TR Edited 20 September , 2019 by Terry_Reeves

Terry_Reeves Posted 21 September , 2019 Share Posted 21 September , 2019 (edited) Steven I have seen the sales description on the internet, which describes him as a despatch rider. Can you say how you know he was with 262 Railway Company? TR Edited 21 September , 2019 by Terry_Reeves
