condronjames Posted 14 September , 2019 Share Posted 14 September , 2019 Hello Would anyone happen to know if records exist at the National Archives for Chinese Labour Corps. Looking for war diaries or anything else of interest. In particular interested in the 122nd and 166th companies. If they do exist would anyone be able to help me with record references as can’t find them on the NA website. Thanks james
Moonraker Posted 14 September , 2019 Share Posted 14 September , 2019 I don't think there are war diaries as such, but researching the Corps has been discussed before: Researching medal recipient "Useful document at Kew" "No war diaries" Other avenues of investigation will be found on the above or by searching the GWF (there are other threads in addition to the above three) and the Web for "Chinese Labour Corps". MaureenE Posted 14 September , 2019 Share Posted 14 September , 2019 There is the book The Chinese Labour Corps (1916–1920) by Gregory James, published 2013, containing almost 1300 pages. http://www.bayvieweducational.com.hk/?page_id=9 If you have access to the British Library in London, the catalogue reference is UIN: BLL01016793880 There is also the online Report giving the history of the Chinese Labour Corps used behind the lines in France 1917-19 British Library Mss Eur F288/110. Part of the family papers of Sir Leslie Fry, Mss Eur F288, (so possibly written by a family member?) British Library Digital.
