MIC for John F Jones

I would be grateful if someone could explain the entries on my G Uncle's medal card. I do know that her served in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers - I have his photograph, in uniform, on the wall at home.

It says he was Drummer 716 with a battalion of the RWF when he landed on Gallipoli on 8 August 1915. On 1 January 1917 he was renumbered to the 6-digit number, and at some point was given rank of Private.

He earned the 1914-15 Star, the British War Medal and Victory Medal. The long alphanumeric references are codes telling you which of the original medal rolls this info came from.
