AM87 Posted 13 September , 2019 Share Posted 13 September , 2019 Hi all, am researching a distant relative who was killed on 28 Sep 1918. He died in what looks like an advance out of Ypres towards Comines. I have checked the war diary and it the account of the action is minimal? Could anyone help me out? I am aware there was a call for distant relatives to go and watch his re dedication ceremony in 2016. All i can say is that i wished i started researching the family earlier! MaxD Posted 13 September , 2019 Share Posted 13 September , 2019 Worth looking at the 124 Inf Brigade diary which has an account with a map. Look in August and October also for Op Orders and move tables and after action accounts/ .I haven't checked the 41 Div diary but it is wise to check out the higher levels if the battalion diary is sparse.
