Hello I'm from New Zealand and am currently in france, I am looking for any information on Pte David Duncan died on the 6th November 1918. his service number is 42062 and he was in the New Zealand Machine Gun Corps, any information at all regarding either himself or his unit would be greatly appreciated. Would be interesting to visit the places he went and maybe locate the place he was injured.

Also some documents say he was a pvt and others say he was a L/cpl...

Thank you for reading 😊

L/Cpl always confuses. It is an appointment rather than a substantive rank. So Private was his substantive rank. Corporal would be the next substantive rank up.

The next step is to find the war diary for his unit. Not an expert on NZ diaries. Will try to find one
