2nd Battalion Royal Inniskiling Fusiliers 1914.

I am looking for information as to where on the 21st October 1914 this Battalion  were  and who they were involved against.

20th & 21st October at Gheer, with the 12th Brigade, 4th Division. No idea who they came up against, but they were driven back a few hundred yards, then held there line between 5.15 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. and were then able to reoccupy there forward trenches. They returned to billets in Ploegsteert at 10 p.m. Casualties for the two days: Officers 3 killed, 2 wounded; OR's 39 killed, 92 wounded & 41 missing.

Hi thank you very much the soldier I am researching was killed on the 21st October  I believe they were really up against a well organised  German  unit.
