Good Evening

this is my first ever post so I hope I am courteous and respectful.

I recently acquired a piece of 1908 type webbing. It looks like it could be a version of the 1903 pattern great coat carrier but in 1908 style.

perhaps members have seen similar and could confirm.

Its dated 1916, British made for the Indian Army perhaps?

Cheers  Hogenaker

I believe it is essentially the lightened,  skeletal pack for the 1908 equipment that was much cheaper to make than the pack. It is not for the 1903 Bandolier (it would not connect with the cartridge pockets or mess tin on rear). See the first item in the link. It is seen in use with the TF before the war. It is a very nice piece indeed!

Thanks Toby  so much for the mage. I originally wondered if it was for carrying rations as it’s dated 1916 but it’s clear now what it is.

fab stuff.
