Aurel Sercu Posted 5 September , 2019 Share Posted 5 September , 2019 Just a piece of information for anyone who may be in the area southwest of Ypres on next Sunday 8 September. Every year we have an "Open Monumentendag" in Flanders (Open Monument Day). It is an activity in the beginning of September when our Heritage is made (more) accessible to a larger public. This cultural activity traditionally is quite a success. Again this time CWGC joined.I think last year it was in New Irish Farm Cemetery (near Ypres). This year is La Clytte Military Cemetery, near Dikkebus. Workmen, gardeners, restoration workers, headstone craftsmen, ... will be there and at work, demonstrating what CWGC does for the cemeteries. This can be permanently visited from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. And at 10.30 a.m. and 14.00 p.m. is the start of a guided tour in the cemetery.
