Wienand Drenth Posted 3 February , 2005 Share Posted 3 February , 2005 Dear all, Regarding the 5th Lowland Bde, RFA I have a few questions. These are not related to its formation and war-service, as that it well documented here on this site. 1) Why this brigade was designated 5th Lowland Bde? It consisted of three territorial RHA batteries, and though it was redesignated in 1917 as 20th Brigade, RHA, why not from its formation on? 2) Was this brigade recognised by a TF association? As it was designated 5th Lowland I would assume it was adopted by Glasgow or Lanarkshire. Was it necessary for the war-formed TF unit that it was "adopted" by one of the TF associations? Regards and thanks for any info! Wienand
