Matlock1418 Posted 31 August , 2019 Posted 31 August , 2019 For info - and a quick question At Lowestoft - Empire Hotel I think (looks like it to me having seen other photos of the rather distinctive hotel, and has Lowestoft on rear) About Oct 1917 - Jan 1918 (it was known to be snowy in Lowestoft in January 1918) Was annotated with "51st Bn" [by a later generation] but the soldier in question has 65th Training Reserve / 234th Infy Bn / 52nd (Grad) Bn on his SR - has a TR/4 SNo. (initially trained and photographed at Kinmel Park, Rhyl, known to have done final training at Oulton Broad, Lowestoft immediately prior to posting overseas in Jan 1918) - so I think the 52nd (and he went on to 1st Bn. South Wales Borderers), but ... ? Is there any way to further check 51st or 52nd Bn?? - anyone got a ready answer please? Any other info always appreciated. In hope ... Matlock
