Don't often see the South African Heavy Artillery cap badge!  Presumably 2 K-LY Regiment is South African?


Max range was 9500 yards but they would hope to fight at about 7500.

Yes, he was in the Kimberley Regiment (Griqualand West) which was one of the South African regiments. We aren't too sure why as he was from Cape Town which is far from Kimberley. I've asked for the service records of his four brothers to see which regiments they were in too. 


My dad still has the cap badge! And his sister has one of the buttons.
