Steve1871 Posted 23 August , 2019 Share Posted 23 August , 2019 No scabbard, but still an impressive piece. I would say, average condition, seen photo's of a lot better and a lot worse, was still expensive, the price of being a collector I suppose. Hope you guy's like Think E.A.6.184. Steve1871 Posted 31 August , 2019 Author Share Posted 31 August , 2019 Got a second one of these 98/02 now, new one is better condition, only the very tip has been reshaped, but the blade was never sharpened , with scabbard, and strange unit Mark. I do not know what that script letter is, seller thought was a "T"? Also, lot of acceptance/ Fraktur's, including both screw hears AND both nuts on back, have not seen that before. Hope you guys enjoy,... Any ideas on the unit marking are very welcome Stwve

trajan Posted 2 September , 2019 Share Posted 2 September , 2019 Indee, in fact more than lovely! But what is that weird letter on the second one? And note that the 'F' at least on this one replaces a scrubbed-out mark! And the '2' is also odd! Whatever that second letter is, it ain;t a 'T' that I can think of... Steve1871 Posted 2 September , 2019 Author Share Posted 2 September , 2019 Hey, Julian You and Demetrios know far more that I ever will on Imperial Grrman marking's , D'. Thinks it is a T and you do not. I have no idea at all, I sent you pic of S71 with same script letter, but as pommel marking, not unit. But same mystery letter would an earlier Ref. Have this letter? The 'F' is over a '3' or possibly an '8' in my opinion. So could originally have been a Pionier marking? The mystery letter remains exactly that... Can't find anything like it! It could just be a lower case 'p', but I can't convince myself that that is what it is. In any case, it goes with the 'F' - look at the dots between the letters. 'A' should be Abteilung, and this goes with the 'F' and the '"p"', but odd to see two different types of number '2's'

Steve1871 Posted 6 September , 2019 Author Share Posted 6 September , 2019 Hey Julian, like I aid earlier, this is two bayonet's with same mystery script, Italic letter, but in different Font, so at least two different armouries made the stamp for this letter
