Thought I'd share this rather delightful photo of a neighbour's mother. Doris Gladys Elphick, Munitionette of Woolwich

One of those photos that should be coloured by some clever person. Born in 1900, she was only in her teens.

I wonder if she ever met my mum's mum, Rose May Smith, who also worked at Woolwich :)

Are there any records of staff?

My two teenage aunts went from Mousehole to Coventry to work in munitions.

Lovely photograph Lucy, thank you for sharing it. What's the triangular badge she is wearing?

It's an 'on war service' badge. See here {scroll down];-  https://www.iwm.org.uk/history/on-war-service-badge

There you go:

Triangular brass badge with the words 'ON' 'WAR' 'SERVICE' indented respectively on its sides. At the centre of the triangle is a voided crown above the date '1916'. The number '1951' is marked on reverse.
