The first name looks like Attentive, cruiser of the Dover Patrol, but I'm flummoxed by the name in brackets. Could the word be "boat crew" and the man thus aboard one of the torpedo boats or patrol boats attached to Attentive?

I think it is probably "Spare Crew". Borne as the ship's company of ATTENTIVE (List 5) and not the more often seen "tender to....." of a ship's name in brackets (normally List 12).

Hi

Thanks for the replies, whilst I knew the parent / base ship was Attentive I couldn't work out the name in brackets. I think that Horatio2 has nailed it with Spare Crew.
