RFT Posted 15 August , 2019 Posted 15 August , 2019 (edited) Remembering the first of 47 Squadron's south Russia Casualties. 15th August 1919 (100 years ago today). Capt. Robert Ernest Eversden, R.A.F. Age 24. Accidentally killed (just before midnight) by a sentry appointed to guard the squadron's steam train Ekaterinodar, south Russia. Son of Catherine and the late Elonza Eversden (Alan Cottage, Ley Hill, Chesham, Buckinghamshire / 57, Swanage Road, Southend-on-Sea). Commemorated on the Haidar Pasha Memorial, Turkey and Ley Hill Memorial Hall. Note: This topic first appeared under heading "In Memoriam" and has since been moved to this section.
