Ron Clifton Posted 14 August , 2019 Share Posted 14 August , 2019 Hello Biffo The War Diary is here: 19 DIVISION WO 95/2067 Divisional Troops WO 95/2067 "C" Squadron 1/1 Yorkshire Dragoons 1915 June - 1916 May WO 95/2067 Divisional Cyclist Company 1915 July - 1916 Apr. It can be downloaded from the Kew website, www.nationalarchives.gov.uk for about £3.50. You may need to add a suffix such as /1, /2 etc as there are two or more diaries in the file. If you have access to Ancestry you may be able to get it free. War Diaries rarely mention individuals by name other than officers, but numbers of casualties each day are nearly always given, and the location of the unit, with a short description of its activities, is given on each day. Divisions had cyclist companies, which in Spring 1916 were consolidated into Corps Cyclist Battalions. For 19 Div, I think that you may also need to look at these files: XI CORPS WO 95/890 Corps Cyclist Battalion 1916 May - 1917 Nov. WO 95/890 Corps Cyclist Battalion 1918 Apr. - 1919 June WO 95/4211 Corps Cyclist Battalion 1917 Dec. - 1918 Feb. (for service in Italy) Good hunting! travers61 Posted 14 August , 2019 Share Posted 14 August , 2019 Found on ancestry in the War Diaries section by typing in Cyclist as the regiment & 19th Division as the keyword, then hover over the various options.
