I'm not sure of the year, but I know this is probably during WW1.

The 7 button Canadian pattern tunic and Canada collar badges, can’t quite make out the cap badge as it looks to have been blackened but he looks to be dressed for mounted duties.

Hard to identify which unit, although the collar badge is fairly clear. It's probably somewhere in this lot. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/canadian_expeditionary_force/cef_index.htm.

Do you have any other details? Name? Where did you get it? Anything written on the back?

Hi

the bandolier is of a rather unusual pattern, not 01 or 03 variety as the  leather closing tabs are stitched tithe top of the flap.
