GRANVILLE Posted 9 August , 2019 Share Posted 9 August , 2019 (edited) I'm not sure if this is the right section of the forum for this, perhaps a mod can move it if necessary. During the early hours of Wed 7th Aug an alarm activated at the Derby Goal and Police Museum. It had been broken into and a considerable number of items - obviously police related, all stolen. One particular item was a 1907 Wilkinson sword bayonet from WW1. I appreciate these are extremely common etc, but if one crops up in the company of other police memorabilia then can you please contact either Derby Goal on 01335 360882 or Derbyshire Police via 101. trajan Posted 9 August , 2019 Share Posted 9 August , 2019 Any idea if the bayonet was marked with an accession number? Logically, if so, this would have been removed, but one never knows...
GRANVILLE Posted 10 August , 2019 Author Share Posted 10 August , 2019 The only information given is that the bayonet bears the date 1907 on the blade - I don't think anyone has thought to record any other markings. Here is a photo of it. David
