Bbeattie Posted 8 August , 2019 Share Posted 8 August , 2019 Hello, I recently picked up this dress belt believing it to be related to nursing due to a thread on another forum which stated that theirs had come with a pair of Nursing medals (https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdnmilitarycollectors.com%2Ft3880-wwi-family-medal-group%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR18SdKeuZ10opBAf-oYDmWrNI7kaNRoCmiFnINb6zk9ytjj7ZveCR78UZo&h=AT0lJJj0QaLJNuRqWTwkUOpPx-ZTFVYyWoKX3JQ28kYdqJtZzURbqApKx1mTeeoJPreFrjB7Uj_gbowDmOFCKpHcNnHsNwmY-DiQ5WqFGd2SOPlheDlY-UTQHb9y5JDssgTXJH4XRai-yUZosFbLASco) The issue being that there is no indication anywhere that suggests this belt has any relation to nursing - nor any photographs. I can't seem to find any other examples anywhere across the internet and was wondering if someone maybe happened to recognize it? I would suggest that it could be a Civil Service Rifles piece but can't seem to find anything that would confirm that notion. Any assistance or observations would be well received - the belt is unmarked save for two separate stampings of the number 79 (as pictured)
Admin Michelle Young Posted 8 August , 2019 Admin Share Posted 8 August , 2019 Nurses belt buckles are normally silver here's a couple from the Great War vintage (somewhere I have the other halves) and mine from 1985. Michelle
