Looking for an ID on this pilot

 

 

It has been suggested it is Mick Mannock https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mick_Mannock which seems to have been accepted by Adam Savage as the answer.

Not convinced.  There is too much suggestion of a moustache, which Mannock never sported.

Something certainly doesn't sound 100% about it to me but maybe that's just my suspicious mind.

There’s no doubt in my mind that it’s Copied from the Mannock photograph. It may have been hidden there for 100 years as stated but I would guess it was drawn later by some amateur artist.
