Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 1 August , 2019 Posted 1 August , 2019 Dear All, The Prince of Wales' visits Empire-wide were very much an aftermath of 1914-1918, and all those officers in the Lucknow photo were Great War participants. I have a fuzzy scan of the whole picture of the HRH visit to Lucknow in December 1921, and a somewhat better scan which is unfortunately cropped. Can anyone beam me a scan of the original, please? The group includes Capt J. L. Muir, attd 1st Horse and formerly IARO attd 1 S&M; ADC to Gov of UP, later Gov of Burma, whose medals I hold. Seated: unidentified General; Mrs Myrta Gamble (acting as Hostess in the absence of Lady Butler); HRH Prince of Wales; Sir Harcourt Butler (Gov of UP, later Gov of Burma); Colonel Worgan. Standing: Capt. O’Brien-ffrench (the template for 007 James Bond), extra ADC; Mr. Petrie, a secret police officer; Capt. Muir, ADC; unknown British Staff officer; Indian officer [possibly Umaid Singh, Maharaja of Jodhpur, Hon ADC to the Prince of Wales]; Capt. Batty, ADC and on Special Service for the Visit; unknown Indian officer; unknown Indian officer; Lord Mountbatten; Capt. Gamble, PS to Sir Harcourt Butler and husband of Myrta Gamble; Lt.-Gen. Skeen; Indian Orderly officer. Kindest regards, Kim.
