charlie2 Posted 29 July , 2019 Share Posted 29 July , 2019 Can any one pinpoint Julien Farm in or near Sainte Marguerite ( east of Soissons). It was used as a medical collection point by 2/Manchester in mid September 1914. It is not mentioned in the battalion or brigade war diaries. charlie2 Posted 29 July , 2019 Author Share Posted 29 July , 2019 Many thanks but that is the wrong Sainte Marguerite. I should perhaps have attached a road map as it is too far south for the McMaster maps. Charlie
jonbem Posted 29 July , 2019 Share Posted 29 July , 2019 I realised that when it was nowhere near Soissons! oops!
mebu Posted 3 August , 2019 Share Posted 3 August , 2019 Here's modern map of the village: looks like no Julien nowadays, just Montagne, possibly built-over. I have tried - unsuccessfully - to find if there is a road or similar with the name. Peter PS just realised lost part of map - let me know if important. charlie2 Posted 3 August , 2019 Author Share Posted 3 August , 2019 Many thanks Peter, the farm may not even have survived the war. Charlie
