East coast convoy escorts

I have been researching East Coast convoy escort operations carried out by the 7th Destroyer Flotilla based on Immingham. The destroyers were of the 'River Class' and '30 knotters'.   Judging from crew lists relating to destroyers that were lost in action, there seems to have been a higher that average number of RNR and RNVR officers in this unit, yet the ratings seem more homogenous with just  a sprinkling of reservists.  Is this an accurate reading ?
