I'm not sure what you are seeking but there is advice on researching soldiers and interpreting the medal index cards on the parent site the Long Long Trail http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/soldiers/how-to-research-a-soldier/campaign-medal-records/how-to-interpret-a-campaign-medal-index-card/ You will also find information on the movements of the 5th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers who he was serving with when he entered theatre, later transferring to the 1st Battalion. The war diaries for both units are available on Ancestry, if you subscribe.
