Guest Posted 18 July , 2019 Share Posted 18 July , 2019 I have a Cameron Highlanders Christmas postcard, with a message to his dad, signed "your loving son Jackie," dated 6th Jan 1919. Think this man was married to my grandma after the war in the 30s. Does anyone have any help so I can research?
George Rayner Posted 18 July , 2019 Share Posted 18 July , 2019 Morning and Welcome to you Gillian If it can be found there are people here who will find it but some more information will help greatly. Date of Birth, residence any basic background details to narrow things down. Having said that Ancestry have two records for a John Alison-if you subscribe you can see them here https://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=1262&h=10822943&tid=&pid=&usePUB=true&_phsrc=Yiy21165&_phstart=successSource https://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=5119&h=5682829&tid=&pid=&usePUB=true&_phsrc=Yiy21166&_phstart=successSource They are medal cards which give a little information-but don't what to dig too far in case its the wrong man!
