Remembered Today:

233 233 (Divisional?) Employment Company Labour Corps

My subject has 233 Employment Company (no first name) Labour Corps on what remains of his docs.

No Labour No Battle tells me that Divisional Employment Companies were numbered in the range 204 - 254 from which I take it 233 was a DE Company.  It then goes on to say that the last DE company to be formed was 223 DE Company of 36 Division in July 1917.  Later, additional DE Companies 771,772,773 and even later 984 and 985 were formed.  Little bit of an anomaly there?

Basic question is - does anyone know which division 233 DE belonged to.

I should say I have scoured this site for previous discussions of this type and have noted that short of looking through a large number of Labour Corps area diaries, there is no way of knowing.

I post this in the perhaps vain hope that that particular DE company may be known to someone!
