deutscherinfanteriest Posted 13 July , 2019 Share Posted 13 July , 2019 Jakob Hayer of RIR 25 was captured at the end of 1915. Where was captured? Aisne or Champagne?
GreyC Posted 13 July , 2019 Share Posted 13 July , 2019 Hi, you might find him here: https://grandeguerre.icrc.org/en/File/Search#/1/2/147/0/German/Military/hayer The names were often sorted not strictly alphabetically. So Hayer was listed under Heier. There is a Jacob Hayer from IR 25. Maybe it´s him regardless of the missing "R"? GreyC
charlie2 Posted 13 July , 2019 Share Posted 13 July , 2019 I have checked some names on the same list and there is no distinction made between Reserve Infanterie Regiment and Infanterie Regiment. https://grandeguerre.icrc.org/en/File/Details/3469553/1/2/ As he was already in French captivity on 29th September 1915, he was captured in the Champagne. The regiment did not move to the Aisne area till October. http://genwiki.genealogy.net/RIR_25 Charlie
GreyC Posted 13 July , 2019 Share Posted 13 July , 2019 (edited) Hi Charlie, good to know about the 1st part. Then this is the Jacob Hayer listed who might fit. That´s the one I had in mind. GreyC Edited 13 July , 2019 by GreyC
