Gardenerbill Posted 12 July , 2019 Share Posted 12 July , 2019 I have a soldiers paybook, his details are entered on page 2, pages 3 and 4 are missing torn out, 5 and 6 are blank, 7 and 8 are missing, 9 to 12 are blank, 13 is filled in, 14 to 16 are blank. It looks like the pages with payment records have been removed, is this unusual or was it done when a soldier was demobbed?

Gardenerbill Posted 15 July , 2019 Author Share Posted 15 July , 2019 Compared to your paybook Andy, mine is in much better condition, so I wonder if mine was a replacement, There are 5 full pages for 8 pay entries and one page with (6) the heading page with 3 entries. My soldier attested 29/05/1916, so assuming 2 entries per month, 43 entries would mean the original paybook ran out in April 1918. Anyway here are some pictures: Front Cover Page 2 Page
